Remembrance Day poster and literary contest winners

The New Hamburg Legion is pleased to announce the Remembrance Day Poster and Literary Contest winners for Students in and around New Hamburg. Five students and their families were recognized at an awards presentation. The RCL has sponsored this Youth Education Program for 50 years to promote Remembrance for all of our VETERANS, past and present.

The New Hamburg Branch had 156 entries judged locally with 13 1st place entries going on for judging at the District Level, where we had 1 third place and 4 second place finishers.

The students can enter poems, essays black and white or colored art work in Junior, intermediate or Senior categories. We had 9 schools participate including Grandview Public, Holy Family Public, Forest Glen Public, Wellesley Public, Baden Public, Sir Adam Beck Public, New Dundee Public, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Academy and Waterloo
Oxford DSS.

Our Awards went to Lukas Stoll from New Dundee Public  for Junior Poems, Cadence Mailoux from Waterloo Oxford for Intermediate Essay, Bethany Austen from Waterloo Oxford for Senior Essay, Michael McDonald from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Academy for Senior Color Poster and Campbell McDonald from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Academy for Senior Black and White Poster.
