2020 poppy campaign will see some changes

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 532 New Hamburg, will be holding its annual Poppy Campaign as in years past, but there will be some changes to ensure our you and our members are safe.

Our Legion members will be distributing poppies at our usual stations (Sobey’s, McDonalds, and No Frills), and will be practicing social distancing and wearing masks. In addition, we will be placing Poppy donation boxes in retail stores throughout the Township.

The Poppy Campaign allows the New Hamburg Branch to give back to our Veterans and support our community. We contribute to the Grand River, St Mary’s and Stratford Hospitals, allowing them to purchase equipment to support Veterans. We also donate to Military Family Resource Centers, training of Veterans’ Service Dogs, the Legion Bursary Program, Veterans’ Hospital, the annual Veterans’ dinner and gift cards for Veterans and their spouses.

With the help of your donations, last year our Branch was able to distribute $23,000.00 to these worthwhile causes, and we are not letting the COVID-19 pandemic stop us from continuing this work this year.

Please donate if you see one of our members or poppy boxes and continue to support our Veterans. LEST WE FORGET.
